Clementine Oberst

About:

Clementine Oberst (she/her) is a PhD candidate in the department of Communication Studies and Media Arts at McMaster University. Her interdisciplinary thesis project interrogates camp as a queer interpretive practice in reality television viewing. She is also interested in celebrity and star image, ideologies of popular music, technologies of surveillance in popular media, discourses of neoliberalism in popular culture, and representations of HIV/AIDS in screen media and literature. She is currently completing a joint PhD diploma in Gender Studies and Feminist Research. Clementine primarily works with Dr. Gardner on grant applications and serves as Pulse Lab’s accounts manager.
