SMARG gathers grad students and faculty members whose research interests are in the area of social media, network and platform practices and activism. In our SMARG meetings, we read and discuss articles of interest to the group, members present their current research for feedback or workshopping, and we host guest lecturers of interest to the group. SMARG’s meetings are held in a hybrid format—both in person in the Pulse lab and online once per month. This research group is a supportive network and community of learning, and while we hope members can attend most events, this is not an obligation.
