In her article, “Breaking boundaries, baring bodies: subversion in the works of Iranian feminist artists on Instagram”, Niloofar Hooman examines how Iranian female body has historically been governed by the Islamic regime’s ideology, and how digital activism and nude art practices are working to transform the female body into more than an object to be governed. Niloofar argues that these nude artistic works deploy the naked female body as a tool of revolutionary and political act.
